The subject of this painting is a crystal vase filled with boughs of hydrangea blossoms sitting on a dark walnut table. It was painted loosely with palette knives. The vibrant colors in the background create the perfect setting for the blowsy blooms and the glittering reflections in the vase. The robin's egg blue plate and bright yellow lemons make for a happy pause as the eye moves throughout this work.
