I visited and revisited this fascinating sculpture over many months. I created several sketches in charcoal in a sketchbook before having the courage to commit to paint. Not knowing of I. could even capture it's complexity I was thrilled to have the time to spend looking at it. All work was done on site at The Aldrich Museum Ridgefield, CT
