Rocks are beautiful. Giant looming granite boulders line the top of Bald Mountain and are your guide to spectacular views. My goal with this painting was to capture the massiveness of these giants but also show the intricate beauty they hold; colors, lichen, soft mosses. My main tool was a palette knife, manipulating the oil paint in subtle ways.
