Weathering the Storm

"Weathering the Storm", is a pastel painting. I used a variety of soft pastels on textured paper. This is a picture of my friends two best furry friends, weathering the storm together. This scene inspired me because it reminded me of many wintery days growing up in Buffalo, NY. We weathered many wintery storms, walking home from school, a friends house, the store with our heads down hopefully to lessen that frozen feeling of the wind and snow blowing across your face. It was if the winds were trying to push you back, as snowflakes hang from your eyelashes you continued to march forward, like you had something to prove, with your strength and your determination you marched forward like there was a gold medal waiting for you at your destination.
