Norfolk Spring

This is inspired by the freshness of spring on a forest walk while on holiday in Norfolk in England. I was intrigued by the rich colours on the trees and the sparkles of light on the spring foliage. To convey this scene I used a wide variety of mark making to suggest the diffusion of light and colour as it spilled through the scene. I painted this on La Carte paper which is an excellent surface for building up layers of pastel and textural mark making.
