Victoria Rainbow

This is a commissioned oil painted of Victoria Falls. My primary focus is on the power and shear quantity of water from the falls. I wanted the viewer to hear the falls in the painting. No photography can capture this feeling of awe. The sunlight and warmth on the left and the blues and wet rocks on the right create a beautiful counterpoint. The river itself is secondary and of small importance in comparison to the power of the falls. I also wanted to capture the scale of the falls by showing enough detail without putting figures into the image. The composition poins you back again and again to the center fall.
